Ivory White Kitchen Perfect For Entertaining
During the holiday season, we love to share recent kitchen designs that are great spaces for entertaining. This weeks featured project is a remodeled Coal Valley, Illinois kitchen that is a holiday hosting dream. This spacious kitchen is perfect for entertaining! A U-shaped kitchen layout with a peninsula and dual-level kitchen island. Plus another wall of pantry, fresh food storage, and display cabinets are also within the same room. Step on in and take a look around with us.
Each corner of the kitchen layout includes a tall cabinet with built-in appliances. As you face the main U-shape layout, the left corner is home to a built in microwave and raised dishwasher (shown below). This kitchen remodel was completed keeping as close to the original layout as possible. Why? These gorgeous floors were already installed and in great condition! The original kitchen included a 15 wide trash compactor unit. In the new design, we instead installed a built-in KitchenAid ice maker. With a water line already accessible in the neighboring corner for the dishwasher, this revised appliance option is ideal for the existing layout.
In the other corner of the kitchen, we installed a double wall oven unit. This 500 series wall oven includes True Convection options. This provides consistent heating and even cooking to ensure there are no burnt edges or under-cooked centers. The temperature probe delivers accurate measurement of internal temperatures of meats, poultry, and casseroles without needing to open the oven. Built-in appliances in a corner can add a lot of interest in look and function. We love how this layout offers up open landing space for the oven items on each side and behind the user at the island.
Speaking of open counter space, the span connecting the U-shape is wide open for prep, service, or decor. This length of counter can be used so many ways. Make a mess? No problem! Clean up is a breeze because there are no grout lines in the kitchen backsplash. A full height slab of matching Calacatta Laza quartz surface is installed keeping a clean and consistent look.
Our quartz surfaces are expertly measured, templated, fabricated, and installed. We can even arrange to have cutouts made for your outlets and switches. In this kitchen design we installed our Radiant switches and outlets in a Nickel finish. When you work with a lighting expert at Village Home Stores we can help you to select a complimenting finish for your outlets, switches, and covers. Nothing can rob attention from a beautiful kitchen and backsplash quite like disruptively basic outlets dotting across it. This radiant series dresses up the look of any wall switch or outlet.
The right decor and accents can truly make a space! That is absolutely true in the case of the MacKenzie Childs Courtly Check pattern items displayed throughout this new kitchen. The white on white kitchen provides the perfect backdrop for the playfully patterned collection of this homeowner. Shown below is an iconic checkered teapot resting on a 5 burner gas cooktop centered in the dual-level kitchen island.
When you are making selections for a kitchen design there are so many details to be decided. When you work with Village Home Stores we are with you every step of the way. Our designers can help keep you on track, on budget, and guide your choices all with that final finished vision in mind. One detail that can really chance the look of a counter surface is the edge style that you choose. In this Coal Valley kitchen, an Ogee edge style was applied to the counter surfaces.
The profile choice on your counter surfaces can add more curves and edges for light to reflect. In this kitchen design, the island counter surfaces look perfectly highlighted and framed in by the Ogee edge. We must also mention that the finished space had another very cute black and white accent piece that is featured front and center in the image below:
Thats Martini and she just loves her new kitchen from Village Home Stores. She makes a cameo in so many of these photos we figured a proper intro was in order. The wall opposite the U-shape is home to a tall pantry cabinet, built in refrigerator, and a pair of refrigerated drawers. The main refrigerator is 48 wide and the set of refrigerated drawers to the left are 24 wide.
There is a small extension of base and wall cabinets on the other end. Normally this counter surface would become a drop zone for mail, keys, and charging devices. But we hid all of that in the top drawer out of sight! While we cant design a kitchen that is resistant to clutter or piles we can suggest better storage solutions for you!
Of course any painted kitchen looks even brighter when it is illuminated by our bestselling Diode LED tape lighting. In this Coal Valley Quad Cities home we installed the low-profile system in three applications: undercounter lighting, in-cabinet lighting, and above cabinet lighting. The look is amazing and with such a low voltage use, this system is the perfect ambient lighting to leave on as much as you would like!
This project was managed start to finish by Village Home Stores using our Complete Project Management Program. This step-by-step process allows us to keep our remodel customers on track and on budget for their home projects with us. The cabinetry in this kitchen is from our Koch Cabinetry line in the Easton raised panel door and Ivory white painted finish. Want to see more of this gorgeous finished kitchen? The cabinet handles are from Jeffery Alexanders Sullivan series in the Brushed Pewter finish. The appliance package is from our KitchenAid line and many of the built-in unites can be ordered in other sizes if needed. Shop our Local Low Price Guaranteed on all appliances online, anytime here at villagehomestores.com For this remodel we did keep the original flooring but that didnt stop us from making some big changes to the flow of the room and nearby spaces. We removed an archway that used to divide the kitchen from the nearby sunroom. By removing that section of arched wall, we were able to extend the kitchen peninsula for more storage and seating (see below).
We also removed some walls and doorways for that mentioned sunroom. Now the flow of the social spaces in this home all feels more open and inviting. We can easily picture this kitchen packed with holiday guests. What a stunning space. Our thanks to these amazing customers for choosing to work with us and for allowing us to come pet Martini one last time and snap some photos to share with you.
