The Top 20 Celebrity Kitchens in The United States

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home. While it isn’t really clear who “they” are, this is a true statement for many of us, including some of the world’s top celebrities who have created stunning kitchens that are more than just places to cook and eat. These kitchens are frequently the focal point of the entire home. In fact, some of them are so spectacular, it’s hard to envision anyone cooking there, possibly messing them up.

To give you a glimpse into the glam kitchens of your favorite celebrities, here is a look at the top 20 celebrity kitchens in the United States. They’ll either give you great ideas for your next kitchen renovation or make you jealous. Some may do both.

1. Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky

Although Chris and Elsa’s Malibu kitchen isn’t all that big, it is gorgeous. Plus, the floor-to-ceiling retractable Pella wall opens right up to the terrace, which offers spectacular views. The kitchen comes complete with pricey Sub-Zero appliances, emerald quartz countertops, a breakfast bar, and polished concrete floors. The kitchen flows directly into the dining room, where gas fireplace and TV give the family something to watch while they eat. Although you can’t tell from this photo, the kitchen has an attached wine cellar that can hold up to 750 bottles.

2. Gerard Butler

Gerard has described the kitchen in his NYC loft as “bohemian old-world rustic chateau with a taste of baroque.” However he wants to describe it, it is stunning and definitely steps away from the kitchens you see in most new homes today. While the kitchen features restaurant-quality appliances and a high-end crystal chandelier, the cabinets and stone backsplash were made using leftover flooring material. At the same time, the dark wood island includes pieces of wood for a top, yet the countertops are topped with marble.

3. Rob Lowe

Rob Lowe’s kitchen is huge and stunning. On the back wall, a 60” gas Wolf range sits with a Wolf hood above it. Along the right wall, Sub-Zero Pro-48 refrigerator with a glass door takes center stage. (If you want one of your own, keep in mind that they retail for $16,500.) The left wall is reserved for a Wolf microwave, “L” Series oven, and a restaurant-worthy warming drawer. The massive island that sits in the middle offers plenty of prep space and a gigantic farmhouse sink. By the way, Rob has opted to forgo the traditional bar stools that sit along an island for an antique bench.

4. Christina Aguilera

Christina’s former Beverly Hills kitchen is the polar opposite of most of the others on this list. Sure, it has the high-end appliances, including a 60# Viking range and hood along the back wall, as well as Sub-Zero 36” refrigerator(available for $8,650, if you’re interested), but other than that it is totally different. It’s colorful and has a lot going on. For example, check out the statement above the range. It says “Apocalypse” and is spelled out using the fonts of some of America’s best known brands, including “Pop” from Pop Secret and “Ca” from Campbell’s. Plus, on the left, you have blood-red chairs that are similar to the shade of lipstick Christina often wears. It’s eccentric, yet stunning.

5. Gwyneth Paltrow

Located in LA’s Mandeville Canyon, Gwyneth’s kitchen was the Veranda concept house before she purchased it in 2012. After purchasing the home, she left the L-shaped kitchen almost exactly like the original decorator had staged it. On the back wall, a Grand Palais 180 range stove ($59,800) sits next to a built-in rotisserie oven on one side and a marble sink with a polished nickel bridge faucet on the other. The cabinets have been painted Galveston Gray by Benjamin Moore and topped with more marble. Finally, the antique island, which is surrounded by an eclectic mix of gray wing chairs and iron chairs with leather seat cushions, sits below two brass pendant lighting fixtures with pleated black shades that are separated by an antique pot rack.

6. Lady Gaga

You wouldn’t expect someone known for being slightly over-the-top to go with such a rustic looking kitchen, but that’s exactly what she went for. In Lady Gaga’s kitchen, exposed beams, pendant lights, and a candelabra chandelier give the kitchen warmth. The cabinets, painted a weathered gray, include a mix of glass and wood doors, along with open shelving, and are equipped with simple hardware. Double sinks, a double range, an impressive stainless steel refrigerator, and a display cabinet (on the right) complete the look. By the way, she spent around $139,000 renovating the kitchen after purchasing the Malibu home for $23 million in 2015.

7. Bruce Willis

Located in Bruce’s recently purchased NYC condo, this kitchen is the definition of understated elegance. The cabinets are made from imported walnut (matching the walnut floors), while the island appears to have a polished chrome bottom that matches the fixtures in the room. Both are topped with extra thick slabs of marble. Of course, the kitchen includes an array of high-end appliances, including a built-in coffee machine and a dedicated area for pastry making. According to the broker, the kitchen was one of the main draws for Bruce and his wife, Emma.

8. Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney’s kitchen is so amazing that it was featured in Architectural Digest. An array of luxury appliances, including a Wolf range and a Sub-Zero refrigerator, can be found in the kitchen, along with a photograph of Andy Warhol, sitting beside the range. The elegant kitchen also includes limestone floors, quartz countertops by Caesarstone, and double islands accented by pendant lights and glass stools by Alison Berger Glassworks. To give the kitchen a bit of a family vibe, her children’s artwork is displayed on the left.

9. Kris Jenner

While we’re on the topic of the Kardashians, we might as well go ahead and discuss the matriarch’s gorgeous kitchen. In Kris’s white-on-white kitchen, double islands take center stage below identical Murano glass chandeliers. Although they can’t be seen in this photo, high-end stainless steel appliances are obviously found in here. The checkered floor, chrome handles and chairs (on the right), and vaulted grey ceiling keep the room from being bland. Plus, the large windows and French doors look right outside, providing a great view.

10. Jeremy Renner

Who knew 2017’s Best Actor for the Buck, according to Forbes, had such exquisite taste? Amazingly, even though there is so much to look at in here, such as the pressed tin ceiling and cement tile floors featuring a graphic pattern, it isn’t too over-the-top. The kitchen features double islands sitting below pendant lights (which appear to be a favorite design element of celebs), upper cabinets with glass doors, huge farmhouse sinks (only one is visible here), and a brown double oven that isn’t shown from this angle. Sadly, Jeremy never lived in the house. It was strictly a real estate flip in Holmby Hills. He purchased for $7 million in 2010 and sold it for almost $25 million in 2013.

11. Pharrell Williams

Located atop one of Miami’s most luxurious buildings, Bristol Tower, Pharrell’s kitchen was created by Pininfarina, a legendary Italian design firm. The dome-shaped, open concept room offers floor-to-ceiling views of the Atlantic Ocean from every corner, as well as a huge island complete with plenty of storage space and a row of leather chairs. The floors are a travertine tile, while the appliances are all by high-end manufacturers. Pharrell opted to sale the property in 2016 for $9.25 million, moving on to a more family friendly property.

12. Denise Richards

Denise’s huge Hidden Hills kitchen is equipped with everything from a gigantic horseshoe-shaped island to a built-in pizza oven and fireplace, Wolf range, and a massive double refrigerator that takes almost the entire right wall. In addition to the large back wall of windows, the vaulted ceiling has skylights, ensuring the kitchen always gets enough light. In late 2016, Angelina Jolie moved her family in, renting the home for a mere $30,000 per month. Today, it’s on the market, meaning the kitchen could be yours for $5.495 million.

13. Dr. Dre

Purchased from Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen for $40 million in 2014, Dr. Dre’s Brentwood kitchen is stunning. It features cabinets custom-made from alder wood and topped with marble, as well as Formations pendant lights with a custom oak island below. A Wolf range sits to the left, flanked by a Tunisian tile backsplash from Exquisite Surfaces. However, it’s the ceiling, made from reclaimed beams and brick, that really sets this kitchen apart from others.

14. Jensen Ackles

The “Supernatural” star’s impressive Malibu kitchen was a labor of love that started by completely gutting the previous kitchen. Today, the kitchen includes custom cabinets in a creamy white, along with a custom island in a deep brown. The mismatched combination goes surprisingly well together, especially when paired with hand painted navy and white backsplash, Calacatta marble countertops, and pendant chandeliers. In addition, the gourmet kitchen includes a trio of high-end appliances, including a Sub-Zero fridge, Wolf range, and Miele dishwasher. The kitchen is so fabulous that it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that it was sold just four days after being listed for sale. It went for the full asking price, $6.995 million.

15. Cameron Diaz

Cameron’s Manhattan kitchen isn’t your typical celebrity kitchen. In fact, it’s quite small. With that being said, its glam factor is well off the charts, starting with the emerald cabinets and golden handles and ending with the hardwood floors that have been stained ebony and cerused, revealing the wood’s grain lines. You also have to factor in the unique unlacquered brass backsplash and countertops, Viking range, and spectacular chandelier. As a final touch, the vase of pink flowers provides just the pop of the color the room needs to soften it.

16. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen

Although John and Chrissy’s NYC apartment kitchen can often be seen in her Instagram posts, you rarely get to see just how gorgeous it really is. This photo makes that possible. The kitchen includes an array of dazzling, gold, bronze, and brass elements, including the handmade chess piece stools by Anna Karlin ($2,700 each). The center island has a patinated surface, giving it a bronzed look, while the cabinets have been designed to fit together like a puzzle. A custom designed floral motif backsplash and beautifully compliments the painted ceiling. Overall, the kitchen has a dark, but inviting vibe.

17. Sarah Jessica Parker

Although it is a bit hard to see, the Calacatta marble fireplace serves as the focal point in SJP’s Greenwich Village townhome and serves as the perfect contrast to the custom espresso cabinets, which are topped with unique stone and wood countertops. The stainless steel appliances are by Boffi, an upscale Italian brand that doesn’t divulge their prices. At the back of the room, a marble table sits in front of the sliding doors that led to the courtyard.

18. Tyra Banks

The supermodel’s Beverly Hills kitchen is often described as modern with an Italian twist. The white shaker cabinets and ornate island are both topped with gray quartz countertops. At the back of the room, a subway tiled backsplash features a dark grout. Meanwhile, the stainless steel range provides a nice contrast to the refrigerator on the left, which has been designed to blend in with the surrounding cabinets.

19. Jennifer Lopez

Located in Jennifer’s home in the Hollywood Hills, this kitchen relies on gray, taupe, and pale blue to give it an elegant look. The kitchen features a La Corune range, which are handcrafted and typically sale for at least $9,000, as well as several other high-end appliances. When you also factor in the thick marble countertops and most likely custom-made pale blue cabinets and island, you can be certain this was an expensive kitchen renovation project. After completely redoing the kitchen to her taste, Jennifer sold the home for $10 million in early 2017.

20. Patrick Dempsey

Patrick Dempsey is another celebrity whose home has graced the pages of Architectural Digest. Of course, the kitchen was one of the top reasons why. The galley-style kitchen is homey, yet upscale and modern, thanks to the concrete countertops and sink, Wolf range, and a BEST hood (yet another appliance manufacturer whose products most of us will never own). The home, by the way, is known as Malibu’s “Tin House,” and was designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry.
